ELBRIDGE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Five people were rushed to the hospital after a second-floor deck collapsed at a home on Route 5 in Elbridge.

At about 8:00 p.m., New York State Police say 15 to 20 people were out on the deck when it gave way underneath them, sending everyone to the ground.

Police say the five people taken to the hospital suffered minor neck and back injuries.

"Everyone is expected to be okay. The owner is tearing the rest of the deck down so we won't suffer any more collapses,” said Sgt. Timothy Siddall.

The deck was about 10 feet in the air.

Several people were treated at the scene and released.
