Washington, DC (WSYR-TV) – A Fayetteville-Manlius graduate has died after a car accident in northern Virginia.
A junior at Catholic University in Washington, DC, Brendan Englert died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on April 22.
The school planned to hold a special Mass on Friday at 6 p.m. with Englert’s family.
“It is our sad duty to mourn the loss of a young member of our University community,” said University President John Garvey. “Please keep Brendan, his family, friends, and teammates in your prayers at this painful time. May they and we find comfort in our faith that promises eternal life and in the knowledge that Brendan has been entrusted to God’s loving care.”
Englert was studying mechanical engineering at the school and played lacrosse.
He was the team’s leading scorer with 31 goals and 21 assists.
