Prattsburgh (WSYR-TV/WETM-TV) – A Southern Tier man is facing Federal charges for kidnapping a Florida woman and raping her for weeks at a home in Steuben County.
The criminal complaint against 19-year-old Brandon Todd charges him with kidnapping a woman he met on a bus in San Diego in April and bringing her back to a house at 11538 Blacklock Hill Road, near NY-53 in the town of Prattsburgh.
That document was sealed for some time, but was obtained by WETM-TV in Elmira
An affidavit from an FBI agent says Todd first convinced the woman to go to a hotel with him. He then threatened her and her family, showed weapons and said he had gang connections.
The woman is not named in the document but she says she was afraid and went with Todd back to the house that he shares with his grandparents. He forced her to stay for more than two weeks, beating her and having sex with her daily.
In May, the woman faked an asthma attack so Todd would take her to Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath. That's where she called police, according to the affidavit.
The FBI agent also writes that Todd called the FBI multiple times during all of this, saying he was part of a sex trafficking ring, but now wanted to help girls get out of it.
He later added he was looking for this woman, whom he had developed feelings for, and wanted to give information in exchange for immunity against charges.
That apparently didn't work.
Todd is charged with interstate kidnapping and being held in jail.
