Oneida (WSYR-TV) -- Fans took a break from slots for a pep rally at the Turning Stone Resort Casino on Friday.
The event featured a balloon drop, a living statue with an orange sash, a Jim Boehem look-a-like contest, and a large Otto ice sculpture.
"One of our chefs, he is a master at ice sculpture, actually won a huge award this year," said Jerry Marrello with the Turning Stone Resort Casino. "It's 3,000 pounds of ice carved into Otto. Yeah, it is pretty impressive.”
SU's last big run in the Final Four back in 2003 was an extra special moment for the Blodgett family.
"That was the year I was born," said Hailey Blodgett.
"She was actually in the NICU at the time they were in the Final Four,” said Staci Blodgett, Hailey's mother.
The Blodgett's joined dozens of other fans donning their team spirit at the pep rally. The brightest people in the bunch qualified for cash giveaways all day. Top honors went to the "Most Orange person.” Still, fans say the best prize would be a championship win.
