First Night set for Onondaga Lake Park tonight

Liverpool (WSYR-TV) – Central New Yorkers will have an opportunity to celebrate the New Year in a family-friendly environment tonight at Onondaga Lake Park.

First Night is returning to Liverpool for its third year and thousands are expected to attend tonight’s event.

The Parkway will be shut down from 4 p.m. today through 2 a.m. tomorrow morning to accommodate the event.

The headlining act will be R5 from the popular Disney Channel show “Austin and Ally.”

In addition, attendees will be able to watch a comedy show and participate in laser tag and video games.

The event begins at 6 p.m. The orange ball is scheduled to drop at midnight, followed by fireworks.

Tickets are $8. Children 5 and under may enter for free.
