Former Onondaga Central High School running back drafted by Oakland Raiders
NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) - A running back who played football for Onondaga Central High School has a chance to live out his dream of playing in the NFL.
Latavius Murray was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Oakland chose Murray with the 181st overall pick.
Murray played at the University of Central Florida after graduating from Onondaga.
In his senior season, he was a All-Conference USA First Team selection and averaged 100.5 rushing yards per game.
In high school, Murray was named the 2007 Gatorade Football Player of the Year in the state of the New York by Rise Magazine.
