Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A former Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office firearms instructor has pleaded guilty to a single count of a felony weapons charge.
Mark Doneburgh pleaded guilty to one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
The judge dismissed three violent felony charges against the former Sheriff’s Deputy and gun manufacturer Glock employee.
When he is sentenced, Doneburgh will receive three years conditional discharge and has been compelled to give up his pistol permit.
Doneburgh will be able to reapply for the permit in three years.
He must also perform 200 hours of community service.
Doneburgh was arrested on numerous gun charges in August 2011 after investigators say they found 16 defaced guns, six guns with serial numbers that were not on his permit, an assault rifle, and a gun disguised to look like a pen in his town of Onondaga home.
He was indicted on numerous gun-related charges.
