New York (WSYR-TV) – Georgetown will advance to the semi-finals in the 2010 Big East Tournament; the Hoyas defeated the Syracuse Orange 91-84 Thursday in Madison Square Garden.

It is the first time this year Syracuse has lost back-to-back games.

Though still a strong candidate for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, Syracuse sustained a potentially costly loss when starting center Arinze Onuaku injured his right leg with 5:07 remaining.

Onuaku landed awkwardly after trying to block Greg Monroe's shot down low. Whistled for a foul on the play, Onuaku grabbed his knee immediately and was tended to by medical staff and coach Jim Boeheim before being helped off the floor. The senior did not return.

Jim Boeheim said following the game that Arinze had a strain, and the team would find out more after an MRI was performed. That was expected to happen sometime Friday, when the team returned to Syracuse.

In a tweet from New York Times writer Pete Thamel, Syracuse team Dr. Irving Raphael said on Onuaku: "I think he'll be back, unless something bad happens tomorrow. I've seen him worse."
