Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Onondaga County Health Department announced on Monday that it will soon launch its annual program to monitor for mosquito borne illnesses.
The program begins on or around May 20 and continues through Oct 18.
During the program, mosquito pools are collected to be tested for viruses including the West Nile virus and EEE.
The program also uses larvicides to control mosquito population.
