Nanticoke (WSYR-TV) – A Cortland County man was one of two people killed in a two-car crash in Broome County on Tuesday afternoon.
State Police responded to the scene of the crash on State Route 26 near Glen Aubrey around 4:33 p.m.
They say 35-year-old Bhrett Berg of Johnson City was driving south on Route 26 when he failed to negotiate a turn.
According to police, his vehicle moved into the northbound lane and struck a Ford Escape driven by Michael Smith, 49, of Homer.
Smith and Berg were both pronounced dead on the scene.
A passenger in Smith’s car, Gail Renninger-Smith, was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries she sustained in the crash.
