SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - The 29th Annual Lights On Caravan weaved through Onondaga County on Saturday to remind people about the dangers of drinking and driving this holiday season.
The caravan included local law enforcement vehicles, ambulances, tow trucks, AAA vehicles, Centro busses and more.
Local law enforcement wanted the caravan to send a clear message; that they will be out in full force looking for drunk drivers the next few weeks.
"We know there's going to be parties, it's the holiday season. We know there's going to be alcohol involved. We're asking to just be adult about it and responsible and keep the community safe by coming up with a designated driver. Don't drive under the influence,” said Onondaga County Undersheriff Warren Darby.
The Lights On Caravan was hosted by the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board.
