Man attacked at Syracuse YMCA

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police are looking into a serious attack at the YMCA on Montgomery Street.

Police say it happened about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

41-year-old Matthew Jefski of Syracuse was found in his room at the YMCA on the sixth floor living area.

He had a large cut across his neck and lost a lot of blood.

Police believe the suspect entered Jefski's room and cut his throat.

Jefski is at Upstate University Hospital in critical condition and has had emergency surgery.

Police say they are following some leads Saturday night but they do not have a suspect in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
