Man dies after house fire in Town of Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA, NY - A 72-year-old Jefferson County man is dead after his house caught fire in the Town of Alexandria.
It happened Saturday at 6:17 p.m. at a home on County Route 2.
Investigators say Robert Cheesman was the only person at home during the blaze.
He was transported to River Hospital in Alexandria Bay, NY, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
