Man seriously hurt in auto, pedestrian accident on I-81

Brewerton (WSYR-TV/AP) -- A man, who police believe was fishing near I-81, in the area of Bartel Road in Brewerton Thursday night, was seriously injured after being hit by a car.

Troopers say 53-year-old Michael Moore of Pennellville was walking west across the northbound lanes when he was hit by a pickup truck. The driver of another vehicle told police that she also may have struck Moore while he was on the ground.

Moore was listed in critical condition Friday morning at the hospital.

Troopers say neither driver will face charges.
