SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Police say a large party was letting out of the Boys and Girls Club when a fight started and shots were fired.

Officers who were a block away from the incident on Shonnard Street, were able to hear the shots around 1:45 Sunday morning.

They say 20-year old Landrous Hill was shot in the right calf and was taken in a private car to Upstate Hospital, before police arrived at the scene. His injury is considered to be non-life threatening.

Hill could not provide any suspect information.

Police say he was arrested at the hospital for criminal possession of a controlled substance, after police found crack cocaine on him.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting is asked to call Syracuse Police at 442-5222.
