Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- For Christmas, many of us enjoy a ham or turkey dinner, but how about a Big Mac and fries?

McDonald’s is urging its corporate-owned franchises to open on Christmas day. The company says its sales grew by staying open on Thanksgiving and it doesn’t want to stop there.

A spokesperson from McDonald’s told NewsChannel 9, “We always try to meet the changing needs of our customers, whether you’re a civil servant working over the holiday, a family traveling to be with loved ones or you simple celebrate other traditions, we want to be there for our customers.”
