Seneca Falls (WSYR-TV) – Numerous emergency crews responded to a fire at a meat-processing facility in Seneca Falls on Wednesday night.

The Seneca Falls Fire Department was aided by agencies from throughout the surrounding area.

When police arrived on the scene at 2984 Bauer Rd. in the town of Seneca Falls, flames were emerging through the roof. The fire expanded quickly, engulfing the entire building and spreading to an adjacent barn.

Neither building was occupied when the blaze broke out. No one was injured. Police say the fire was accidental. They say it was caused by a meat smoker in the northeast corner of the building.

The property owners were not insured. Police said the buildings were “a total loss.”
