National Grid launching $2 million incentive to help flood victims
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – National Grid is launching a program to help customers impacted by the recent flooding.
The $2 million in aid will help businesses in the Herkimer area who were hit hard by flooding earlier this month.
The utility company says it's seen the devastation from previous storms and wants to make sure people can get back on their feet.
"We've seen in Sandy and Irene, the need for those who are impacted. So, our role as utility provider is to help our customers and today's grant allows them to get back up and running with their businesses,” said Ken Daly the National Grid President of New York State.
As part of the program, businesses are eligible for up to $50,000 in grant money.
