New YMCA opens in Manlius

Manlius (WSYR-TV) - Residents in Syracuse’s eastern suburbs have a new center for getting in shape.

The new Manlius YMCA opened its doors on Monday morning.

The new location has some special features including a cardio fitness room, along with indoor and outdoor tennis courts.

"We're all about providing good programs in a safe environment for kids. It's an ideal situation to provide the programs for our community," said YMCA official Denny Taft.

By the fall, YMCA officials plan to install artificial turf inside the building as they create its first Athletic Performance Center.
