Westlake, Ohio (CNN) – A Cleveland-area man has been arrested for carrying a gun, ammunition and several knives into a showing of the "The Dark Knight Rises."

Police in Westlake, Ohio, say 37-year-old Scott A. Smith was carrying four knives and a loaded 9 millimeter Glock handgun with two extra loaded magazines.

A theater manager and an off-duty police officer working security noticed Smith bringing a suspicious bag into the Cleveland-area cinema Saturday night.

They say he made no threats, and was taken into custody without incident.

After getting a warrant, authorities say they searched Smith's home, and found more weapons, including rifles, shotguns and survivalist gear.

A police lieutenant says Smith has no criminal record, and served in the military for a short time.
