Oneida County Jail inmate charged after cocaine found in cell

ONEIDA COUNTY - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office has charged a county inmate with criminal possession of a controlled substance after finding cocaine in his cell.
Deputies say 22-year-old Shawn J. Stephenson of Rome is charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th.
Investigators were checking Stephenson's cell, when they found a folded white piece of paper with a white powder substance inside.
The powder was turned over to the Forensics Unit and tested positive for cocaine.
Stephenson will be arraigned on the charges in Whitestown Court on February 11th.
