Oneida woman accused of bilking state out of nearly $20K
Wampsville (WSYR-TV) -- A 31-year-old Oneida woman was arrested on welfare fraud charges Thursday.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Jennifer L. Loukili failed to disclose that she was married and living with her husband when she filed for public assistance. Loukili was allegedly overpaid $18,952 in public assistance benefits, authorities said.
Loukili has been charged with one count of welfare fraud in the third degree (a Class D Felony) and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree (a Class E Felony). She will appear in court to answer to the charges at a later date.
If convicted, Loukili faces a total of up to 15 years in prison on all charges.
