Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Manlius man who used online dating services to scam women has once again been taken into custody after his profile surfaced on Match.com.

Donald Van Valkenburg pleaded guilty to grand larceny in May 2011. Van Valkenburg admitted that he lied to a woman, telling her he was a successful businessman. He became engaged to one woman who didn’t realize he was scamming her until he was arrested in front of her.

In February, Van Valkenburg was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to repay his victims $14,000.

The 44-year-old man was arraigned in Onondaga County Court before the Judge Anthony Aloi – the same judge who warned him to stay away from dating sites during his February sentencing.

He was ordered to be taken back to jail without bail.
