Oswego (WSYR-TV) -- Oswego Schools Superintendent Bill Crist has announced that he’s stepping down this year.

He says it’s because of an impasse when it came to negotiating his contract.

Crist will retire at the end of the school year. He has been the superintendent since December 2008.
