Texas (WSYR-TV) -- It’s a private moment and one that most couples remember forever, but what if your marriage proposal was caught on camera and you had no idea.
Amateur photographer Patrick Lu was taking photos at the Capitol in Texas when his friend noticed a guy who was about to propose. As the guy dropped to one knee, Lu snapped a photo and later posted the photo to the website “Reddit” where the photo went viral.
“Yeah, I didn’t really expect it to be that popular. I just expected it to get like my usual 50,50 upvotes,” Lu said. “I checked the post and then there was a link saying that the guy found it.”
After thousands of votes, the couple finally found the photo online and thanked Lu for the surprise wedding gift.
