Plant superintendent at Marcy Correctional Facility accused of stealing gas

Marcy (WSYR-TV) – A man responsible for maintenance in the buildings and grounds at a correctional facility in Oneida County is facing criminal charges.

According to State Police, 54-year-old Robert Crouse of Durhamville was working for New York State as the plant superintendent at Marcy Correctional Facility when he stole state gasoline from Midstate Correctional Facility for his personal use.

Police say he took gasoline from the pumps and transported it to his home in five gallon containers.

They charged him with petit larceny and official misconduct.

He is scheduled to appear in Marcy Town Court on Jan. 22.

They say additional charges may be forthcoming.
