Cicero (WSYR-TV) – A man wanted for an alleged attempted abduction the Cicero Walmart on Tuesday may have approached other women inside the store on a different day, police say.
Cicero Police say a woman who saw a media report on what authorities have
called an attempted abduction of a 13-year-old says she was approached by a man fitting the same description on a different day.
Police are currently trying to establish whether the woman’s account from the Dec. 5 encounter is connected to the incident in the Walmart parking lot on Dec. 11.
They say the man can be seen on surveillance video also approaching a number of other women in the store on Dec. 5 between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
They want to talk to any female who may have been approached by a man at a Walmart store on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
Police want to talk to any female who may have talked with a white male, approximately 5-foot-10 or 5-11, with an average build, short blond hair, and no facial hair.
The man was wearing a hoodie with “Syracuse” on the front, as well as blue jeans.
During the Dec. 11 incident, police say a male driving a black Hyundai SUV with yellow and blue New York license plates approached the girls as they walked through the parking lot.
The male reportedly asked the 13-year-old for her name and asked where she lived.
He also asked her if she was scared to get into his car.
They believe the car's model year is between 2001 and 2004.
Surveillance video recovered from the store shows the vehicle following the girl and passing her several times before the man tries to talk to her.
