Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police arrested a 20-year-old woman who they say tried to steal hair products from a North Side drugstore and then slashed a manager who tried to stop her.

Police charged Crimson Clayton of Cleveland Avenue in Syracuse with robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

They say Clayton entered a Rite Aid location on Butternut Street and concealed hair dye and gel in her bag. When she tried to leave the store without paying for the items, a security and a store manager tried to stop her. Police say Clayton then pulled out a knife and slashed the manager on his arm.

The guard was able to subdue Clayton. After she was taken into custody, she was transported to the Justice Center.

Police said the manager's injury was not life threatening.
