SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest in connection to an incident at Carousel Center Friday night.
Police say at about 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a fight involving 15 to 20 people just outside the movie theaters at the mall.
When the officers approached, they saw a male on the ground who appeared to be knocked out during the fight. They spotted three live shotgun shells next to him.
Police say several males involved in the fight then ran toward the escalators.
As the suspects ran down the escalators, officers tried to stop them.
One of the suspects was a 15-year-old boy.
He was eventually stopped by police and mall security and taken into custody. Another boy was also arrested.
During the incident, the jacket belonging to the 15-year-old fell off. In the sleeve, officers found a sawed-off shotgun.
The teenager will not be identified due to his age. The other boy taken into custody is charged with Resisting Arrest and Harassment in the Second Degree.
