Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Police began the New Year investigating the final homicide on 2012. 

Syracuse police say 30-year-old David A Jones, Jr., was shot at about 11:30 Monday night as he sat in an SUV parked outside 744 West Onondaga Street.

Sgt. Tom Connellan says the victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The suspect is described as a black male 6'0", 200 pounds, wearing a orange hooded sweatshirt with a Syracuse University logo and the letter "C" on it.
