Chittenango (WSYR-TV) – State Police are planning to charge three male students from Chittenango High School after allegations that they recorded and photographed female classmates undressing over the summer.
After school reopened in the fall, rumors began spreading and a parent contacted authorities, saying a girl had been recorded undressing during a group event at a home in Madison County.
Police say that there were seven total victims, all ages 15 and 16. Police say the suspects are also 15 or 16 years old.
They say images were taken on three separate occasions using a cellphone, an iPod, and a digital recorder. Two incidents allegedly occurred in the town of Sullivan, another allegedly occurred in Cazenovia.
Police executed three search warrants to obtain the evidence.
Police say they don’t have information indicating that the images were uploaded to the internet or transferred from one device to another.
“We don’t have the information that the images were sent anywhere. Still looking into it, but no indication that they were sent to the internet or traded back and forth. The information we have so far says the images stayed on the devices used to capture the images,” said State Police Capt. Mark Lincoln.
Chittenango’s superintendent said he is not permitted to say what kind of action the administration took against the students.
