Rochester man, 54, charged with Thruway graffiti
STAFFORD, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Rochester man has been charged with spray painting disparaging remarks about President Barack Obama on a bridge over the Thruway in Western New York.
State police say they arrested 54-year-old Oliver Glover on Tuesday and charged him with criminal mischief, making graffiti, possession of graffiti instruments and unlawful dealing with fireworks.
Troopers say Glover "tagged" a bridge over Interstate 90 in the Genesee County town of Stafford, about 20 miles southwest of Rochester. Police say he left graffiti on the same span several times after Thruway work crews had removed it.
Troopers say they're looking into whether Glover is linked to similar graffiti taggings between Buffalo and Rochester.
He was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to be back in Town of Stafford Court on Tuesday. There was no phone number listed for Glover.
