Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A convicted serial killer who murdered 12-year-old Sara Anne Wood from Herkimer County has admitted to a third murder.
Massachusetts authorities say Lewis Lent Jr. confessed to murdering 16-year-old James Lusher 20 years ago.
Lusher disappeared in November of 1992 after going out on a bike ride.
“We were able to have another conversation with him fairly recently and in that conversation he gave us detailed, credible information as to his involvement in the Lusher disappearance," explained Captain Michael McCabe with Westfield Police.
Massachusetts Police plan to search in a nearby pond on Tuesday where Lent said they could locate the body.
Lent kidnapped and killed Sara Anne Wood in 1993.
She was last seen riding her bike home from church.
The serial killer has never told police where they could find her body.
Lent is already serving a life sentence for murdering Sara Anne Wood and another boy named Jimmy Bernardo.
