Montezuma (WSYR-TV) – The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has released the identities of two people killed in an accident
involving a school bus on Route 90 in the town of Montezuma Tuesday night.
43-year-old Dawn Wilder-Smith of Port Byron and 73-year-old Ann Eider of Clifton Springs were both killed in the accident, which involved two cars along with the school bus.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Wilder-Smith was traveling north on Route 90 when her car crossed the line and went into the path of a Seneca Falls school bus.
Wilder-Smith’s vehicle continued into the southbound lane and then struck a vehicle being driven by 53-year-old Penny Eider of Clifton Springs.
Ann Eider was riding in the front seat of the vehicle being driven by Penny Eider. The driver and another passenger, 75-year-old Roger Eider of Clifton Springs, were airlifted to Upstate University Hospital.
Penny Eider is the daughter of Roger and Ann Eider.
Roger Eider is listed in serious condition and Penny Eider is listed in good condition at the Syracuse hospital.
The Seneca Falls wrestling team was traveling by bus from a match at Port Byron High School.
One student was taken to Geneva General Hospital with what police called a “very minor injury.”
Investigators do not know at this point why Wilder-Smith’s vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic.
