ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Snowfall totals in upstate New York are ranging from 5 inches to about a foot in most places, but hit 20 inches at Whiteface Mountain in the Adirondacks.

As the storm winds down late Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service also says 20 inches of snow was reported at Sodus, off Lake Ontario between Rochester and Syracuse.

Those cities saw as much as 14 inches, while places to the south reported single digit totals for the most part and the Capital Region got a half-foot.

Some cities are restricting parking so crews can dig out.

There were scattered road closings and multiple traffic accidents, including on the Thruway system, but there are no reported deaths.
