HURON, NY (WSYR-TV) - A man from the Wayne County town of Huron is charged with second degree manslaughter after an investigation into the death of the man's mother.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said they responded to a 911 call about a possible death at a home in Huron in October.
The body of 75-year-old Marcia Burkwit was found in a wooded area about a mile away. The Sheriff's Office said the body was wrapped in a blanket and covered with leaves.
The Sheriff's Office said sometime between October 21st and October 22nd Marcia Burkwit and her son, 50-year-old, Daniel Burkwit got into a fight.
During the fight, Marcia Burkwit broke her neck, which led to her death.
Daniel Burkwit is in custody at the Wayne County Jail on no bail.
The Sheriff's Office is expected to release more information at a press conference on Monday.
