HERKIMER, NY (WSYR-TV) - A special fund has been set up in memory of Ape,
the FBI K-9 shot and killed Thursday morning in Herkimer. The fund is through the FBI Agent's Association.
State Police say Kurt Myers shot and killed six men on
Wednesday morning in Herkimer and Mohawk.
Four of those men died, two more remain in the hospital.
Myers secured himself inside a vacant building in Herkimer late Wednesday morning and began a standoff with police.
On Thursday morning, officers entered the building. Myers shot and killed Ape. Officers returned fire, killing Myers.
