State Police On the Lookout for man who led them on chase

WILNA, NY (WSYR-TV) – State Police are On the Lookout for a man who took troopers on a chase in northern New York.

Police say 51-year-old Brian Aikens was driving in the Plattsburgh area when he was stopped by State Troopers.

Aikens is wanted by the Clinton County Probation Department for probation violations for Fourth Degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Fourth Degree Grand Larceny.

Aikens sped off after he was stopped, leading police to the Lewis County town of Diana.

From there, State Troopers stopped their chase on the ground and a State Police helicopter picked up the chase.

Aikens then neared the Jefferson County town of Wilna. Police say Aikens got out of his vehicle, started running and troopers lost sight of him.

Aikens is described as a black male, about six feet tall and weighs about 225 pounds.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing.
