State Trooper loses battle with lymphoma

Canastota (WSYR-TV) -- A retired New York State Trooper lost his three year battle with lymphoma.

Timothy Tyler, 38, was diagnosed with peripheral t-cell lymphoma in January 2010. He leaves behind a wife and two young children. He was last stationed at Troop D Headquarters in Oneida.

Tyler was a member of the State Police since 2002.

He was a wrestling champion when he attended high school in Canastota and was named a Division III All-American at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
