Student air lifted to hospital after fall from fire escape

ITHACA, NY (WSYR-TV) - Ithaca Police say a student was found on the ground but responsive when emergency crews arrived.

They responded to The Knoll around 1:00 Sunday morning and found the student at the back of the home.

Police say the student had fallen from a second floor fire escape and was injured in the fall.

The student was flown to a trauma center by a Guthrie Air helicopter.

The extent of the student's injuries is not known.

Police are not releasing the name of the student or circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ithaca Police are continuing to investigate.
