Suspect dead, police officer injured in Binghamton shooting incident

Binghamton (WSYR-TV) – One suspect was killed and an officer was injured during a shooting incident in Binghamton early Christmas morning.

Police answered a report of two suspicious people near the intersection of Conklin Avenue and Livingston Street at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Binghamton Police say one of the suspects fired at police. Two officers also fired. One of the suspects’ bullets hit an officer.

One suspect died during the incident. An officer who was hit was taken to the hospital for treatment and then released.

Police have not revealed the identities of the suspects, nor have they identified the officers involved in the incident.

Binghamton Police did not indicate when more information would be released. They said all further information on the incident will be released through the police chief’s office.
