Suspect expected to live after being shot in movie theater
SAN DIEGO (AP) - A San Diego police officer has shot and injured an armed man in a movie theater.
However, police say the man is expected to survive.
Officer David Stafford said police went to Reading Cinemas Carmel Mountain 12 in response to a domestic violence call Saturday afternoon.
Stafford said the shooting occurred inside a theater at about 3:50 p.m. The officer was not hurt.
Police say the suspect was shot in the chest and arm after he pointed a handgun at one of the officers who pursued him into the theater.
The suspect is expected to be booked into a county jail after he's released from the hospital.
