Syracuse Police On the Lookout for suspect in attempted robbery

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are On the Lookout for a male suspect in an attempted robbery and shooting Sunday night.

Police said 25-year-old Shaun Richer was walking in the 100 block of Isabella Street when a man approached him from behind and demanded Richer’s money.

Police said Richer told officers that he punched the suspect in the face.

The suspect then pulled out a gun and the two men started to wrestle for the gun.

Richer said during the struggle, he was shot in his right hand.

Police said he walked to St. Joseph’s Hospital and is expected to be okay.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" tall, medium build, black hair, brown eyes, and he was wearing a white shirt.

The case is still under investigation.
