Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A congregational meeting at a South Side church in Syracuse had to be shut down after police were called to the building three times in three hours.

Police initially responded to the New Covenant Church on East Beard Avenue because of a reported argument.

They were called again when a gun was reported within the church. Police said the gun report was false.

On the third occasion, Syracuse Police responded to a report of a large disturbance.

On the third report, Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler closed the meeting.

Police did not make any arrests as a result of the series of reported incidents.
