Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man is under arrest following a stabbing incident that occurred Thursday evening at Toomey Abbott apartments.

Police say they found the victim, 36-year-old James Carson, in the lobby area of the 20th floor of apartment complex.

They found 46-year-old Warren Agnew on Almond Street running from the scene with blood on his clothing.
Police say Agnew stabbed Carson in the chest with a kitchen knife. They found the knife at the scene.

Carson was taken to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition. His condition has since been upgraded to serious.

Police say they expect Carson to survive his injuries.

Agnew was charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse City Court on Friday.
