Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Two Syracuse teens have been charged in connection with an alleged drug deal and robbery attempt in a Wegmans parking lot last Friday.

Deputies say the two suspects – 18-year-olds John McFadden and Charles Baz -- tried to rob a 17-year-old boy during a supposed hydrocodone exchange in the Wegmans parking lot located at 3325 West Genesee Street.

The arranged drug deal happened on last Friday night at around 11:30 p.m., according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

McFadden is accused of approaching the victim and threatening him with a knife. The victim’s hand was cut, but he was able to get away, deputies said.

McFadden has been charged with attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and assault.

Baz is charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy.

Both teens will be back in court next week.
