Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police have arrested three men in connection with a burglary at a local smoke shop and an attempted burglary at another. Police say the incidents happened within an hour of each other overnight.

Kenneth Wilcox, 18, of Syracuse; Tyler Cifra, 26, of Syracuse; and Christopher Scott, 20, of Camillus, were each arrested and charged with attempted burglary, criminal mischief, burglary, petit larceny, conspiracy and criminal possession of stolen property.

Reports of suspicious activity at the Tripp Hill Smoke Shop, located at 509 Avery Ave., led officers to the shop where they found someone had attempted to break in. Upon arrival, officers discovered someone had shattered the store’s door and window.

The suspects were described as two men wearing black hats with bandanas covering their faces. They were seen getting away in a dark colored sedan, police said. The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m.

About an hour later, police say two men matching the same description may have been involved in a burglary at Tebb’s Headshop, located at 515 N. Salina Street.

Moments after the second incident, police were able to track down a vehicle matching the description offered by witnesses and subsequently arrested the three suspects.
