Preble (WSYR-TV) – Authorities have identified the man who became trapped under his tractor while attempting to pull a large log from a creek in the town of Preble Monday afternoon. The man has been identified as 31-year-old David Sherman.

The director of emergency management says Sherman was moving logs out of a creek with his tractor when one of them got stuck and caused the tractor to roll over on top of him. Several agencies were called in to assist with the rescue.

Sherman was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The incident happened on a farm at the intersection of Rt. 11 and Foley Road.
