Chaumont (WSYR-TV) -- A tree service employee was accidentally killed in the Village of Chaumont Thursday afternoon, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say the victim, 39-year-old Ronald C. Watson, of Gouverneur, was alone when grinding a stump. They say he became pinned between the grinder's protective shield and an adjacent building.
Watson, an employee of Ryan’s Tree Service, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is being investigated by OSHA and the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
