SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police believe two overnight robberies near Syracuse University may be related.
In the first one, a Syracuse University student reported that three males tried to rob him on the 700 block of Ostrom Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say the student was able to get away and was not hurt.
The suspects are described as black males, 5'10" to 5'11" and in their late 20's. One had facial hair. One suspect wore a reddish-brown jacket, another wore a blue hooded sweatshirt.
About fifteen minutes later, another SU student reported that he was robbed by three males in the parking lot of 703 Walnut Avenue. Police say one suspect threatened to use a knife, but the weapon was never seen.
The student received a scraped knee in the incident.
The suspects are described as black males 5'8" to 5'10", 150-160 pounds between the ages of 16 and 19. One of the suspects was wearing a large puffy jacket.
While police say these robberies may be related, they do not think they are connected to the robbery of two SU law students at the Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday night.
